Stars love to debut new hairstyles at award shows, but you might not have caught these two subtle switch-ups at the Emmys. So of course we’re bringing them to your attention.

First up, Kerry Washington debuted some fun ombré streaks, dying her tips an edgy copper color that popped against her orange Prada dress. Right now, we’re not sure if the new hue is here to stay or just an added accessory to make match her dress. She kept her strands straight with a sleek center part, and played up her eyes with some major liner that we’ll talk about at another time, don’t worry.

Kate Mara lived up to her “hair chameleon” title, changing things up again, in the color and cut department. She shaved a few inches from her ends, stepping out with an asymmetrical chin-length bob and went a bit more auburn with her shade. And we have a feeling she’s on the verge of a pixie.
