You might not know Olly Murs yet, but chances are, you’ve heard his hit summer single, “Heart Skips a Beat.”
The talented Brit toured with teenage phenoms One Direction this summer on the North American leg of their sold-out Up All Night tour. Like his tourmates, Murs, 28, competed in the talent competition show, The X Factor UK — and lost.
However, Murs released a hit U.K. record before touring with the biggest-selling pop act on the planet, One Direction. While on tour, the singer recorded an acoustic version of his single, as performed throughout the U.S.
Watch him perform the stripped down version of “Heart Skips a Beat” above.
What’s ahead for Olly Murs?
Shortly after signing with Columbia, Murs released “Heart Skips a Beat” – his first U.S. single – in March 2012. The singer will release his debut American album, In Case You Didn’t Know, on Sept. 25.
Murs joins a slew of British pop acts trying to make it big in the U.S. at the moment, thanks to the overwhelming success of Adele and One Direction. Popstar — and fellow former X Factor contestant – Cher Lloyd will release her debut U.S. album this year, as will Roc Nation’s Rita Ora.
