Love It: Sarah Jessica Parker’s Embellished Dress: Let me start off by saying that I am not into SJP’s stockings. Last I checked she still had the most amazing legs ever. But what I am into is, well, everything else — starting with this Elie Saab Haute Couture lace dress, which is nothing short of heavenly. I can just imagine her eyes lighting up, as mine do, over all the pretty embellishment (it’s adorned with sequins and Swarovski crystals!). Plus I love the peek of her black bra and the waist-cinching ivory belt. The look is a tad sweet, a tad sexy and totally perfectly accessorized with a stack of bangles from her own brand. –Jackie Fields, Beauty Writer

Lily Collins Backless Moment: I never thought I would have such strong feelings about a fire-engine red turtleneck gown, but everything about Lily’s Solace London dress — worn to the Love, Rosie premiere in Hollywood — is mesmerizing. The fit on her body is perfect, the high-neckline really makes the open back feel that much more dramatic and the sleek slick-back hair pulls everything together. I even tracked the dress down in black on Shopbop, and if I had a place to wear it to I consider spending the $425. –Brittany Talarico, Associate Style Editor
Hate It: Marion Cotillard’s Dior Disaster: I don’t know what Dior has against their spokeswomen, but I can’t understand a world in which they send their more flattering stuff to random celebrities and then punish Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lawrence and poor Marion Cotillard with their weirder pieces. Case in point: This unfortunate Bermuda shorts-and-velvet-coat outfit the actress for to the NYFF premiere of Time Out of Mind.
