Matthew McConaughey is having a banner year with his Oscar win, Emmy nod, and another hit film that he’s busy promoting this very minute. Which is why it’s pretty tough to steal the spotlight from the native Texan, 45, and yet, someone has managed it: his adorable son, Levi.

The chubby-cheeked 6-year-old—McConaughey’s eldest child of three with wife Camila Alves (in Marchesa)—looked incredibly excited to be attending his dad’s New York City premiere for Interstellar on Monday, Nov. 3. The curly-haired boy not only donned a suit for occasion, but also a bow tie. (He did, however, keep his white-soled black sneaks.)

This isn’t the first time Levi has gussied up to celebrate his pops! When the Dallas Buyers Club star was honored at the 28th Annual American Cinematheque Awards in Beverly Hills on Oct. 21, the kindergartner chose a tux that matched his dad’s for the night. (Father and son were joined at that event by the actor’s mom, Kay, her date, C.J. Carlig, Alves, 32, his daughter, Vida, 4, and Alves’ mother, Fatima.)

And as it turns out, Levi and Vida don’t just love their dad’s red carpet duties. “My kids loved the [Interstellar] set!” McConaughey told Us Weekly at the film’s Big Apple premiere, and added, “I can tell you this—I was even more awe-inspired watching [this film] than I was making it.”
