Actor John Lithgow has joined the political comedy Dog Fight for Warner Bros. and director Jay Roach.
The story centers on two political rivals (Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis) both vying for the same Congressional seat in a small North Carolina district. No character details were given for John Lithgow‘s role. Jason Sudeikis, Sarah Baker, Brian Cox, and Dylan McDermott also star in Dog Fight.
Jay Roach is directing Dog Fight from a screenplay by Shawn Harwell and Chris Henchy. Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis are producing alongside Adam McKay.
It isn’t known when production will begin on Dog Fight, although Warner Bros. already has the comedy slated for release on August 10, 2012.
