You’ll Get Choked Up Over Garth Brooks’s Midshow Serenade

When Garth Brooks performed “The Dance” in Minneapolis, MN, on Friday, one fan got the surprise of a lifetime. A 46-year-old woman named Teresa Shaw brought a sign to the show that read, “Chemo this morning, Garth tonight, enjoying ‘The Dance,'” a nod to her favorite Garth song, and after her sign made it onto the giant screen, the crowd erupted in cheers. She told KARE-11 that soon after, she was approached by an usher who brought her to the first row. Suddenly Garth made his way toward Teresa, sat down at the edge of the stage, and started to serenade her with her favorite song. When the song ended, Garth hugged Teresa and then held up her sign, saying, “God just stuck his hand out and wrote this. You have all my strength, you have everybody’s strength in here, and you go kick cancer’s ass!” Watch the moving moment, which starts around 2:06, above.
