It’s a bird! It’s a plane! Nope, it’s a woman with seriously killer style!
Striking a fierce pose, Taylor Swift covers the January 2015 issue of ASOS magazine, for which she inspired the story, “How to Be a Supergirl.”

The zine—associated with the online fashion house, ASOS, whose clothes Swift, 24, can often be spotted in—celebrates how the “Blank Space” singer has gone from a sweet country crooner to a Big Apple-based pop sensation, starting with how she puts her ladies first.

“When I’m getting dressed, it’s always based on what my friends will think,” Swift, who worked her muscles on the cover in a silver crop top and skirt by the brand, explains. “They are my number-one priority, and the opinions of girls are more important to me at this point in my life.”
And that’s because those girls are inspirational power women, too. “A lot of ‘celebrities’ surround themselves with these very chic cling-ons who don’t really have much of a job or a passion,” the Dick Clark Award for Excellence winner says. “They follow around their celebrity BFF and provide constant affirmation for them, and I’m really not interested in that kind of deal.”

Instead, she surrounds herself with women who have “their own lives and their own busy schedules,” like her 2014 AMA seatmates, Lorde, Selena Gomez, and Karlie Kloss. And when those celebs offer her constructive criticism, you better believe she listens.
“The first step to receiving negativity is to decide whether or not it is the opinion of somebody that you care about,” Swift shares. “If it’s somebody that I respect, then I really do take it into account because ‘haters gonna hate’ only applies to people who are simply criticizing you because their life sucks.”
