When Princess Kate landed in New York City on Sunday evening, she turned to one of her favorite maternity labels for her debut appearance. Wearing a plum-colored bouclé “Marina” coat by Seraphine, it was the first time Kate has selected a bespoke piece from the British label.
Seraphine was founded by Cecile Reinaud in 2003 and has been the go-to maternity shopping destination for Angelina Jolie, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Garner and many more celebs, but no-one has boosted sales for the brand quite like Kate. And the label recently opened their first stand-alone store in New York.

Known for her classic sartorial choices, one of Kate’s favorite dresses during her pregnancy with George was the “Jolene” style, an empire-waist design with a flattering, flowing silhouette. But Reinaud predicts a change emerging in Kate’s fashion choices during her second pregnancy.
“I think this time she will go for more of a bump-hugging style because she will be more comfortable with her pregnant figure. The first time you are almost shy,” Reinaud shares. “I think she will wear more clothes that show off her great pregnant figure.”

Later in the evening, Kate chose another British label familiar to her — Beulah London. But this time she selected an off-the-peg design from the brand’s spring/summer 2015 collection, the black lace “Amara” dress.
“It’s a very popular fit-and-flare shape,” designer Natasha Rufus Isaacs tells PEOPLE. Rufus Isaacs is a close friend of the royal couple, and Kate has stepped out in her clothing four times in the last few years.
Teaming the dress (which featured intricate scrollwork and lace detailing) with art deco style earrings and black pumps, it was the perfect LBD for a private dinner, the first event on the couple’s busy agenda.
“She looked very beautiful and elegant in the dress,” says Rufus Isaacs. “She’s a great ambassador for British fashion and looks fabulous in everything she wears.”
So far no re-wears or American designers for Kate, but we have a lot more royal stylewatching ahead. What do you think of the Princess’s looks? Which is your favorite so far? Sound off below.
