Erza Miller was mighty impressed by Emma Watson’s American accent in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, a factoid he revealed to Celebuzz Monday night at the film’s Los Angeles premiere.
“You know, Logan and I had a conversation once,” the 19-year-old actor — who attended the event with a cardboard cutout of his absent co-star, Logan Lerman — revealed. “We were like, ‘Hey, you think Emma’s going to be able to do an American accent like we can, because we are from America?’”
So, what was the final verdict?
“We were like, ‘Probably, she’s pretty awesome.’ Then, after we saw the movie a couple days ago, we were like, ‘Yup, we were right.’”
But it wasn’t just the British-born Watson’s accent that impressed Miller. In the video above, the actor spoke about the close relationship he formed with Lerman and Watson while filming the movie, calling the experience one of the best summers of his life.
“We formed a really close bond,” he said.
“[It was the] kind of experience that the book is about, where you kind of realize in these beautiful moments that friends will get your through.”
And speaking of one-of-a-kind experiences, stay tuned to the very end of the video to find out what happened when Miller pulled the Lerman cutout in for a quick interview.
Suffice to say, he didn’t hold out as well as the real Loman would have on the red carpet.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower hits theaters on Sept. 21.
