New York Fashion Week Spring 2013: Katie Holmes Debuts Her Collection at New York Fashion Week (PHOTOS)

Katie Holmes has officially made the transition to full-fledged fashion designer. The ex-wife of Tom Cruise debuted her Holmes & Yang line at New York Fashion Week on Sept. 12 alongside co-designer, Jeanne Yang.

The duo presented their spring collection at The Box at New York City’s Lincoln Center, and both looked ecstatic to be showing their line.

Holmes, who looked like she meant business in trousers and a leather jacket, was hands-on making finishing adjustments to the models’ looks before the presentation began.

So what was the response to Holmes’ presentation?

Though the reviews are still rolling in, the buzz on the intimate presentation has been positive. Resembling Katie Holmes’ own style, the line focuses on business casual separates — something the 33-year-old mom has an obvious affinity for, with tailored blazers, A-line dresses and wide-legged pants making up the bulk of the collection. Pops of periwinkle and coral helped warm up the otherwise black and white spring collection.

Fitting with the sophisticated, clean tone of the collection, all the makeup for the show was provided by Bobby Brown, who chose Holmes as the first-ever celebrity face for the cosmetic company.

As for the reaction of the designers themselves, Holmes and Yang looked relieved as they welcomed a select group of fashion editor, buyers and friends to the presentation Wednesday morning, People magazine reported, shaking hands and hugging everyone who came to support the actress’ NYFW debut.
