Who is ABC trying to marry off next?
After months of speculation over the casting, the network has apparently confirmed that Sean Lowe will be the main man on Season 17 of The Bachelor to People magazine.
The Bachelorette castoff will have his pick of beauties when the show returns in the midseason.
Lowe, a 28-year-old Dallas-based businessman, was Emily Maynard’s second runner-up on last season’s The Bachelorette. She ended up picking and getting the marriage proposal from Jef Holm.
While the reports were circulating in July, host Chris Harrison weighed in on Lowe’s chances for the casting.
“Sean would be an amazing Bachelor,” Harrison told Celebuzz, though he gave the same compliment to the other reported frontrunner at the time, Roberto Martinez, the Season 6 winner and former fiancé of Ali Fedotowsky.
“We didn’t know what the reaction to Sean would be,” Harrison continued, referring to the overwhelmingly positive audience reaction to the ousted contender.
An ABC spokesperson tells Celebuzz of the news, “Stay tuned. You’ll hear shortly.”
