One Direction singer Liam Payne has reportedly split from his girlfriend Danielle Peazer.
The couple, who met two years ago on the set of the UK’s X Factor, ended their relationship because of Payne’s time commitments to the chart-topping boy band, reports The Mirror.
Will the two remain friends?
A source close to the 19-year-old singer allegedly told the UK paper, “They have split in the last few days because it has been more and more difficult to keep the relationship going with Liam spending more and more time away. He has hardly been able to see Danielle in recent months and the band have a world tour next year so it was only going to get harder.”
The source reveals, however, that Payne hopes to remain close to Peazer, who “was the first real love of his life.”
Early reports suggested that Peazer broke things off with the teenaged superstar after receiving abusive Twitter messages from One Direction fans.
In June, Payne tweeted a series of messages in defense Peazer, who had been charged by some fans with only dating the singer for his fame. Peazer is a professional dancer, having danced for The X Factor, the 2012 London Olympics and artists such as JLS, Jessie J and Leona Lewis.
“Just as I start to like twitter again I see the nasty side of people who like to dislike somebody who makes me … Me,” the 18-year-old crooner wrote. He added: “#SometimesIHateTwitter when it becomes a place to abuse people who uve never met never did anything to you but you still choose to be cruel [sic].”
Payne now joins single bandmates Niall Horan and ladies’ man Harry Styles. Meanwhile, Zayn Malik is dating Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards and Louis Tomlinson is in a relationship with model Eleanor Calder.
