In late October, it was rumored that Sony Pictures wanted to hire acclaimed screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network ) to pen a biopic based on Walter Isaacson‘s authorized biography Steve Jobs, which centers on the life and work of the Apple founder and Chairman.
Earlier this week, Aaron Sorkin confirmed that Sony has approached him to take on this project, which he says he is “strongly considering”. Here is his quote.
“Sony has asked me to write the movie and it’s something I’m strongly considering. Right now I’m just in the thinking-about-it stages. It’s a really big movie and it’s going to be a great movie no matter who writes it. He was a great entrepreneur, he was a great artist, a great thinker. He’s probably inspired [my 11-year-old daughter] Roxy more than he’s inspired me. She plays with all his toys.”
The only research Aaron Sorkin is currently doing on Steve Jobs is reading Walter Isaacson‘s best seller.
There is no set start date for when Steve Jobs will go into production.
Steve Jobs comes to theaters in 2013.
