Lauren Conrad Denies Getting Apology From Spencer Pratt For Sex Tape Rumors

LOS ANGELES — Lauren Conrad stirred up the flames on more than one front Thursday with her appearance on “The View.” For starters, the 23-year-old fashion queen added coals to her longtime riff with fellow “Hills” star Spencer Pratt.

During her visit, Conrad was asked about an important scene that recently played out on the MTV reality show, in which Pratt calls her to apologize for spreading rumors that she had a sex tape. The seemingly apparent move was an attempt to bury the hatchet and get Conrad to attend his wedding to Heidi Montag, her childhood friend. Only problem is, Conrad says the call never happened and Pratt has never apologized, even though he called the apology a wedding gift to his wife during a “View” appearance earlier in the week.

“To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t on the other end of that call,” Conrad said Thursday. “That was filmed and I wasn’t on the other end. I didn’t even know about it until [it aired on TV]. So, no, I didn’t get an apology. He lied.”

When asked why she went forward with attending the wedding then despite the missing apology, Conrad said it simply had to do with her long history with Montag.

“It’s hard to understand now, but a long time ago — years ago, we moved here together, and we were best friends, and we used to say, ‘Some day at our wedding….,’ ” she explained . “I just felt like it was a few hours of my time, and as much as I didn’t agree with it, I might some day regret not doing it.”

Conrad’s revelation Thursday also adds to the frequent chatter that the MTV show is scripted. Of course, she won’t have to worry about those whispers now that she’s decided to leave the series.

“It was definitely what I wanted to do,” she said of her decision to depart.
