It’s been a while since we checked in on Elizabeth Olsen’s hair. And frankly, we figured that was no big thing — the Olsen siblings rarely make mane moves on their long, enviably wavy locks. But we were mistaken, and while we were sleeping on the job, the actress went and got the 2014 Haircut of the Year: A bob!

The engaged actress was last spotted on the red carpet with super-long, chestnut locks, which were dyed for her role in The Avengers. She’s brightened up her locks since, and now she’s lightened her look in a major way — by losing serious inches and getting a cute, choppy short cut, courtesy of stylist Mark Townsend.
“Chop chop,” he captioned the picture above — a big reveal after showing the bob from the back. “New hairdo! #DreamTexture #MarkEyeView” he wrote on the photo below.
