When we land upon a street style snap in our Instagram feed, the first thing we think is: I need that outfit. Now. The second thing we think? If only we could appear so #flawless in our own outfits. We know we’re not the only ones who often doubt we can pull off certain styles because of our body type. And the way fashion bloggers and celebrities look in their photos – from their #offduty poses to their long limbs and perfectly coiffed hairstyles – can be both inspirational and downright frustrating.

We are not all fashion models. Everyone’s legs are going to look different in over-the-knee boots. No one should feel pressured to stretch herself taller or create the illusion of a booty with more “bounce.” Keep reading to see all the altered street style snaps that prove this isn’t exactly the “real girl” inspiration we thought it was.
