Jon Stewart took a leave of absence this summer from The Daily Show to film Rosewater, his directorial debut starring Gael García Bernal. Thursday night, however, he decided to check back in, skyping with temporary host John Oliver, beard and all.
Stewart took some time to clear up some rumors Oliver had been spreading about him. First of all, he is not reenacting the plot of National Treasure. Second, he does not know the whereabouts of the currently missing NSA leaker Edward Snowden. He then turned his attention to praising Oliver, saying, “you’re doing a phenomenal job.”
