Demi Lovato is making her directorial debut.
The 20-year-old singer is co-directing the video for her latest single, “Made in the USA,” and she’s giving fans a sneak peek at the process in a newly released behind-the-scenes video.
Demi’s co-director Ryan Pollata speaks Demi’s cinematic praises in the clip, saying, “Demi’s great. She’s just got so much energy, and she’s just the most down-to-earth person. She’s really great to collaborate with. She came into this with a really specific vision for the video.”
Lovato explains how she got involved in the video’s directing process: “What happened was I came up with the treatment for the video. I saw the shots I that I wanted to do and everything. I told my manager and I kind of walked him through it, step-by-step. And he said, ‘why don’t you just direct it since you know what you want?’ and I’ve always wanted to direct so I was like, ‘OK, let’s do it!’ And that’s kind of how it happened.”
Aimee Teegarden of Friday Nights Lights stars in the upcoming vid, which follows a young couple who meet at a carnival.
We’re looking forward to seeing the Demi-directed video when it drops!
