Happy birthday, Gerard Butler!

But life for Butler hasn’t always been full of sunny beach outings and sexy movie roles…
The Scotsman had a near-death experience nearly a year ago on the set of his new surf drama Chasing Mavericks. He later spent three weeks at the Betty Ford Center, where he was treated for an addiction to painkillers.
“When you hear the word rehab, you think, ‘He’s a mess, he’s f**ked up.’ But I’m glad I did it. I’ve made a s**tload of wrong decisions in my life. But I know I’ve made some right decisions as well,” the actor recently told Men’s Journal.
Perhaps one of those right decisions was hooking up with Romanian supermodel Madalina Ghenea. The couple have been romantically linked since mid-October, when they were spotted kissing on the French Riviera. Ghenea, 24, was also spotted with Butler at a Cannes Film Festival afterparty in May.
Not too shabby, Mr. Butler!
