Adrienne Bailon’s The Real costars were (understandably) excited when the star showed off her brand-new, giant bling on the show yesterday, and now it’s our turn. We got a chance to catch up with her last night at the Essence Black Women in Music Pre-Grammy Event, and she was not shy about giving us a good look at the bling.

“It’s on my finger and I’m still in shock!” Bailon told PEOPLE about her enormous round-cut diamond, on a pavé band of equally jaw-dropping sparklers — a gift from her fiancé, Roc Nation music exec Lenny Santiago. “Even when you know, when the rest of the world and your closets friends know, it just becomes very real and I was just so excited.”
She also shared a bit about her new hardware with PEOPLE. “The ring is from Rafaello & Co. Gabriel Jacobs, whom is a great friend of ours and does a lot of Jay Z’s jewelry, actually designed it with Lenny,” she says. “Lenny knew that I wanted something classy and timeless and he absolutely delivered. I love it!”

And unlike some celebrity brides, who claim they can’t even think about the planning, Bailon said she has “ideas” already for her New York nuptials, which include possible DIYs and a definite salsa band (The Real costar Jeannie Mai says she’s going to take lessons to prepare).

“Having these girls as my best friends and to be able to share news like that with them has been the best day ever,” Bailon said of Mai and costar Loni Love, who says she’s angling for a flower girl role. You can watch them all go into BFF meltdown mode on Monday, when Bailon will reveal the details of her engagement on the show.
