It’s no secret that when Rihanna puts out a music video, it rises just as fast as the single itself.
Her latest, “Diamonds,” has already received more than 19 million views on YouTube since its premiere one week ago. And the accompanying album isn’t even out yet.
From her very first music video for “Pon de Replay” to her latest masterpiece, Rihanna, 24, has remained one of music’s most successful artists who can draw music video attention in record time.
In honor of Rihanna’s upcoming seventh studio album, Unapologetic, Celebuzz is taking a look at the Barbados singer’s seven best music videos.
Before sparkling in “Diamonds,” RiRi has done nearly everything in the music video books, including putting on a fake British aceent for “We Found Love” and playing a cheater in “Unfaithful.”
In her music videos, Rihanna has always been able to balance style, lust, femininity and sexiness.
Whether it’s tantalizing Drake in a convenience store with a carton of milk, or just having a girls’ night out at a club, the singer has let fans into her music video world, regardless of how some story lines have resembled real life.
“With every song it’s a different story, so the visuals are very specific to that story and that world,” Rihanna recently told MTV.
“With ‘Diamonds’ it was just a series of vignettes that we put together to help get the emotion across throughout the song . . . you just want people to feel that and I wanted little cutaways of interactions that would give you the right emotion.”
To date, Rihanna’s most popular music video on YouTube is “What’s My Name,” with a whopping 278 million views.
Without further adieu, here’s a look at the 7 best Rihanna videos ever made.
Unapologetic arrives in stories Nov. 19.
