As each can’t-miss moment unfolds at the 2015 Oscars, PEOPLE is at the preparties, on the red carpet, backstage, inside the Dolby Theatre and at the afterparties for Hollywood’s biggest night of the year.

Friday night, Tom Ford Autumn/Winter 2015 Womenswear Collection Presentation: Best Actress nominee Julianne Moore (Still Alice) and her husband Bart Freundlich arrive together, along with Amy Adams arm-in-arm with Dareen Le Gallo.

Josh Duhamel and Fergie bump into fellow star couples Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello, and Aaron Rodgers and Olivia Munn.

-Notable front row faces: Anna Wintour, Gwyneth Paltrow, Moore and Best Actress nominee Reese Witherspoon (Wild).

-Oscars performer John Legend and Elton John share a long chat and a hug in the middle of Milk Studios.

-Legend and Jennifer Lopez are spotted outside after the show, stuck in the valet line. (So L.A.)

Friday night, 8th Annual Women in Film Pre-Oscar Party: Even Meryl Streep‘s entrances are award-worthy. Upon her arrival, a massive crush of people surround the Oscar nominee (for Into the Woods), taking photos and introducing themselves. Streep is a class act, kind and gracious to all.

-A tour bus stops on the street and the people inside scream and cheer for event host Jennifer Hudson. “I love my fans,” she says.

-Inside the party, Best Actress nominee Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) chats with Lake Bell and sips champagne. Pike tells reporters that she’s got quite the glamorous morning ahead. “My son just threw all his cars into our swimming pool, and I found myself promising to dive in and retrieve them all. There must be about 52,” she says. “That’s going to be the morning wakeup call.”

Selma’s Carmen Ejogo on Oscar night: “I anticipate that I will be taking a lot of selfies.” And the star she most hopes to meet? Michael Keaton. We’ll keep an eye out for that shot.
