Lupita Nyong’o loves a red carpet risk, and she definitely took one at the Oscars. The actress, who topped best dressed lists last year in her “Nairobi blue” Prada gown, selected another statement-making design, featuring a front cutout, a sexy open-back and tons of pearls — more than 6,000 pearls to be specific.

The custom ivory Calvin Klein Collection by Francisco Costa design has 5 variations of pearl sizes and was hand sewn for the actress. And while the gown looks very heavy, Nyong’o says it’s easy to move in. “It’s actually quite comfortable,” she shared on the carpet.
