Beautiful. Fit. Great baker. BFFs with Taylor Swift. These are all ways to describe Karlie Kloss. But the supermodel sheds her good girl image in a bold new fashion shoot.

The 22-year-old is almost unrecognizable in the new issue of V magazine. In the spread, shot by photographer Steven Klein and styled by Patti Wilson, Kloss wears pieces from Comme des Garçons’s spring 2015 collection, along with a scary mask, what appears to be blood-spattered clothing and a slicked black bun — a sharp contrast to her other modeling moments.
“Blood and Roses is the expression of a deeper significance of roses, typically happy and pretty,” Rei Kawakubo, the designer behind Comme des Garçons, said of the graphic shoot. “Often in history the image of the rose was more connected with blood and wars, in relation to political conflict, religious strife, and power struggles. This is what was interesting to me this time.”
