Kanye West is feeling very sentimental lately. He apologized to Beck. He cried on camera over the passing of his fashion mentor. And now he just got birth date tattoos of his late mother, Donda West, and his daughter, North, on his wrists.

Kim Kardashian West shared the snap of her husband’s fresh ink on Instgram, explaining that she had to convince him to not get the tats on his face.
“He got it on his wrists instead,” she wrote. “His mothers birthdate and North’s birthdate in Roman numerals.”
Kanye’s song “Only One” (featuring Paul McCartney) also pays tribute to the rapper’s mom and celebrates his love for North.
“My mom was singing to me, and through me to my daughter,” he shared during a recording session earlier this year.

The Wests have had a very busy month, form Kanye’s Adidas Originals show at New York Fashion Week to the Brit Awards to fabulous fashion parties. And Kanye’s been very vocal along the way — especially when it comes to addressing his critics.
“I have millions of ideas and I represent a new generation just trying to express themselves in a broken world,” he shared in repson. “I don’t call myself a designer as I was not allowed to go to Saint Martins because I was too famous by the time I realized I wanted to design. Fame is often looked down upon in the design world, so it’s actually been something I had to overcome.”
