On Sunday, Perez Hilton shared a link to an explicit photo of the 17-year-old Cyrus in which she appeared to be getting out of a vehicle sans her underwear.

"If you are easily offended, do NOT click here," warned Hilton, who has since removed the upskirt photo from his Twitter page. "Oh, Miley! Warning: truly not for the easily offended!"

Many have since called for swift justice against Hilton, who could potentially face child-pornography charges, even if the image was Photoshopped, as some have suggested.

Jeffrey Douglas, a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney specializing in child pornography cases, told Salon.com that it was "suicidal" for Hilton to distribute the image. "We’re not talking about a misdemeanor," he said. "You don’t have to know what the definition of the law is; all you have to do is knowingly distribute the photograph."

On Tuesday, Hilton reacted angrily to what he deemed a "fake controversy."

"Seems like the whole world is thinking I posted a photo of Miley’s vagina without underwear on," he said in a video message posted on his website. "Do you think Miley is that stupid to be out in public without panties? Do you think I’m that stupid to post a photo of Miley if she’s not wearing any underwear down there? No."

"Sure I like to be controversial," he added, "but I don’t want to go to jail."
