Alert the Celebrity Bob Brigade: There’s a big-name star joining their ranks. And like the perpetually long-haired (until they weren’t) Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian and Lauren Conrad before her, this one really took us by surprise. Jessica Alba chopped off her locks Friday night, and as she herself put it: “Uh oh!”

The actress, whose long, wavy honey-tinted locks have been her signature for years, showed off her surprising transformation on Instagram at an event for her brand, The Honest Company. And she didn’t tentatively dip a toe in to the short-hair waters: She went for a full chin-skimming cut with blunt ends and a lot of texture.

She also credited stylist Gianni Andrea for the new look, posting a sweet snap of the two of them together. On his own Insta account, he gave a few more details about her cut. “Spring forward makeover! A true pleasure being around this joyous woman with an honest view on life,” he wrote. “Yesterday makeover for the girl with the most magnetizing smile @jessicaalba my version of the bob, an A-line texturized, sharp silhouette. A happy joyful day.”
