Lisa De Vanna Facebook Sex Scandal Photos: Australian Matildas soccer star Lisa De Vanna has apologized after posting sexually suggestive photos to her Facebook account.
"I understand that as a professional athlete, I have a duty to be a positive role model for children, women and all of our fans and I regret that my actions may have offended anyone. I will work hard to ensure this does not happen again," Lisa De Vanna said in a statement released by her current club, the Washington Freedom.
Lisa De Vanna was told to remove the scandalous photos and set her page to private Wednesday after the mother of a young Matildas fan complained to the Football Federation Australia (FFA).
The photos, none of which involved nudity, showed Lisa De Vanna posing with other women and using props to simulate sexual acts.
A spokesperson for the Freedom said the photos were posted without the team’s knowledge.
"Lisa is embarrassed by this situation, has apologized to the organization and has removed these photos from her Facebook page," said the club.
