Short hair is definitely in again for spring. And it looks like ombré might be making a comeback too. Proof? Sarah Hyland has updated her long do in a favor of shoulder-grazing style, and Rose Byrne tweaked the color of her amazing asymmetrical bob. (And we’re fans of both.)

The Modern Family star has been giving us total long-hair envy with bouncy blowouts and glossy waves since she got extensions last fall, but now she’s returning to a lob (maybe she was inspired to by Jessica Alba’s long-to-short hair change this weekend).
But don’t get too attached: The actress advised fans that her short style probably won’t last long. “Last week I got my extensions out!! It’s lob time!… For a week. Love my ladies at @ninezeroone,” she captioned her Instagram.

Even though we would miss her perky ponytails, her side part a beachy waves are giving off a Lauren Conrad vibe, and we think she should seriously consider staying extension-free for the season.

From cut to color, Byrne hasn’t been full-on blonde for a while, but this past weekend she debuted lighter ends at South by Southwest, so a full dye job might be in the near future. We love when she does ombré, and lately she’s just been going lighter and lighter.
