Eric Decker on His Style: ‘My Wife Still Has to Dress Me’

Eric Decker looks good no matter what he wears. And the New York Jets wide receiver has his his wife (country singer Jessie James Decker) to thank for that. How do we know? Because Eric, who is an ambassador for Buffalo David Bitton’s clothing line, told PEOPLE a little bit about his fashion off the field.

The footballer joined Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers for Buffalo David Bitton’s “Love Decker Challenge” in Orlando where the two athletes competed on the basketball court wearing Buffalo’s Fleece Jean.

“Honestly, I could probably play a football game in these jeans — they make me feel like I’m wearing sweatpants,” Eric told PEOPLE of the style. What else did we chat with the star about? Catch the highlights below!

Before he met Jessie, he didn’t really know how to dress
“My style has gotten better. I was kind of hesitant to try new things, you know she pushed me in finding the trendy stuff, and I finally started wearing it. So I got a lot better. But she still dresses me, of course. During football season, we have to wear suits for the away trips, and she likes to pick those out and the colors. It’s not hard to throw on a nice pair of jeans and a shirt — I can do that myself — it’s putting together the outfit with a sports jacket or a certain tie She makes sure I’m dressed all nice.”

He weighs in on her outfits too (get ready to swoon)
“She definitely asks my opinion of. I don’t know where to begin to be honest with you. It’s hard because she always looks good.”

He wants a lot of mini Deckers
“Both of us talked about you know, four kids. And now after we had one, we’d love to have two under the age of two. And now we’re like, probably three…Obviously it would be nice to have a little boy, but I love my girl. I could have a lot of girls. I just know that when they become teenagers, I need a boy to protect them at school.”
