Andre Johnson and Cortland Finnegan Fight Video: Houston wide receiver Andre Johnson and Tennessee cornerback Cortland Finnegan got into a nasty fight Sunday that led to both players being ejected from the game.
Finnegan kicked off the fight when he went for Johnson’s face mask at the start of a play in the fourth quarter. Johnson responded by ripping off Finnegan’s helmet and landing several punches to his exposed opponent’s head.
"It’s just a buildup of things over plays," Johnson told reporters after the game. "I just lost my cool."
The Texans were leading 17-0 at the time of the fight. They went on to win 20-0.
Finnegan left without speaking to reporters after the game, while Johnson said he was sorry for his actions.
"I would like to apologize to the organization, our owner, my teammates," he said. "What happened out there wasn’t me. I just lost my cool and I wish I could take back what happened but I can’t. I’m pretty sure I’ll be disciplined for it, I’ll have to deal with it from there."
