April Fools’ Pranks from Fashion Brands: How Many Had You Tricked?

As Taylor Swift wisely said Tuesday night, “For the next 24 hours, trust no one.” And judging by all the pranks we’ve seen on social media (one example: Katy Perry debuted a Kris Jenner-esque cut) she certainly had a point. Check out some of the stunts pulled by your favorite fashion brands (then, in some cases, accept their apologies for the pranks by way of a discount code.) Let us know your fave (or any we missed) in the comments!

Boden shoppers got an email this morning claiming that a beach-print dress happened to have an inappropriate image of a nude sunbather, and offering all unwitting customers a refund. Clicking through to the site got you an April Fool’s message and a 25 percent off code.

Rebecca Minkoff is already a favorite of festival-goers (we have a feeling we’re going to see a lot of her fringe at Coachella this year), and she made the announcement that she’d be there in person spinning discs at DJ BECKY. And she included one very non-foolish treat: A 20 percent off code for anyone fooled by the prank.

Benefit Cosmetics has gotten Miss Cleo back on the line for a very special occasion: The launch of the “Flawless Friends Network.” Call the number on the screen and get a message just for you from the celebrity psychic!

This will give you “paws:” Barneys New York spoofed their popular “Locked in Barneys” series with a “Licked in Barneys” video featuring some very cute pooches — who also got “treated” to a special “Man’s Best Fred’s” menu at the store’s chi-chi restaurant.

Shoe line Miz Mooz got a leg up (so to speak) on April Fools’ Day by sending out press releases for the “Selfie Shoe,” a low heel with a charging dock designed to take a photo of your face with the tap of the toe. (And yes, plenty of news outlets picked this one up.)

Kenneth Cole claimed to have invented a bag that would make picking up after your dog chic: The **IT Bag.
