Princess Kate may “forget” that she’s pregnant sometimes, but we certainly haven’t. We’re counting down the days till the second Royal Baby arrives (we may or may not have an office pool!). We’re also predicting clothes she should wear to introduce Prince George‘s younger sibling to the world, which will happen sometime this month. Sound crazy? Maybe not, when you consider the frenzy she stirred up in the custom blue polka-dot dress she wore to debut George on the steps of St. Mary’s. Someone’s already thinking about this dress — so we might as well too!

If It’s a Girl … I’m taking cues from the fact that she wore blue for her baby boy and assuming she’s got a wardrobe of pink picks ready to go if she has a little Alice (or Charlotte, or Victoria). First up is a floral number from her go-to maternity line, Seraphine. While I wouldn’t put it past her to rewear the raspberry knotted jersey dress she wore in the first royal family portrait (she is the queen of wardrobe recycling, after all), she might spring for something new from the brand, like this pretty floral number — which she of course would customize with sleeves or top with a jacket.
She also might rewear one of the pink coats that have had people speculating that she’s having a girl — either this blush Alexander McQueen or the hot pink Mulberry one she’s worn twice since expecting her new baby. And finally, I won’t rule out another custom Packham number — how cute would this blousy shirtdress look, hemmed short and given more of an empire waist? (Also, is it too late to place more bets on “Alexandra” for a girl’s name? I really think they should consider it.) –Alex Apatoff, Senior Style Editor

If It’s a Boy … Most of the world is hoping for a girl, but I’d love to see Will and Kate welcome a second son — it will be like Will and Harry 2.0! And if the next royal baby is a boy, then I’m predicting Kate will once again channel Diana and wear a look similar to the red outfit the late Princess of Wales wore to introduce Harry to the world (see photo and video below). My pick? This vibrant Hobbs dress featuring a white Peter Pan collar. (Kate is a huge fan of the London-based label.)
While I’m rooting for another Diana-like moment, Kate might also go for something with more of a modern feel and select another price-conscious design on the big day, like this ASOS floral maternity dress (middle). The print is perfect for spring, and it’s a midi length that we know the Princess is fond of. My last pick is something classic Kate — the royal blue “Marlene” L.K. Bennett dress with ruching at the waist and a streamlined silhouette. Now on to more important things like, What will Prince George wear? –Brittany Talarico, Style News Editor
