And this week, we’re loving Zoë Saldana‘s sultry (and seriously sexy!) beauty moment during a date night with husband Marco Perego at the Samsung Galaxy S 6 and Galaxy S 6 Edge launch in L.A. And because we’d love to try out the look for our next night out, we reached out to the star’s makeup artist Vera Steimberg for all the exclusive scoop on how she perfected her vibrant red lip and more!

For her big night out, the 36-year-old actress wowed in a one-shoulder curve-hugging Roland Mouret dress and bright orange-hued Christian Louboutin pumps, which, of course, was the inspiration behind the bold lip, said Steimberg, who’s been working with the Saldana for a few years.
“For Zoë’s look we usually look at what she is going to wear before making any decisions,” she told PEOPLE. “For the Samsung event, the dress had a hint of red, and as it was a night event, it was the perfect occasion for that French touch with red lips.”
But going bold wasn’t a surprise for the two. They were set on going red from the get-go, as they usually decide on red-carpet looks together. “We pretty much agreed on that [the red lip] from the beginning,” she said. “We have been working together for a few years now. We met on the film Death at a Funeral, where I was the makeup department head and we [have] remained close since then.”
As the gorgeous face of L’Oréal Paris, Saldana was done up with the help of Steimberg’s favorite L’Oréal Paris products — especially on the eyes and lips!
“Zoë’s makeup was all L’Oréal [Paris],” she explained, which included lots of work on the lashes. “Lots of mascara, top and bottom lashes and red lips to make a natural and chic look!”
To paint your pout as red and vibrant as Saldana’s, we recommend using L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lipcolour in British Red. Don’t be afraid to layer the lacquer to make it pop as much as the actress’s!
