When packing for the days-long Coachella Music Festival (set in Indio, California’s Colorado Desert, where temps can hit the 90s) most would chose a favorite pair of cut-offs, a comfortable tank and some sort of festival-mandated boho jewelry. But for Hollywood’s most stylish stars (Alexa Chung, Kate Bosworth, Chanel Iman, Katy Perry and Fergie) sweating in a simple tee just isn’t in the cards. From $5,000 dresses to $2,000 boots, we rounded up some of the most expensive pieces spotted at the desert music fest — and no, you aren’t just seeing a high fashion mirage.

Alexa Chung practically has her face next to “festival wardrobe inspiration” in the fashion dictionary, but while some might scour thrift stores to nab her boho chic, she gets her effortlessly cool style in pieces like this $5,150 Chloé plissé silk-chiffon midi.
Kate Bosworth showed us how to reinvent our braid game with a center-part cornrow, but unfortunately if you wanted to recreate her style, her heavily embellished Etro jacket (with crochet, embroidery and beading details) is $3,165, and sadly, already sold out. (Her dress underneath isn’t cheap either — she dropped $550 for a Kempner design that’s not very amenable to sitting cross-legged in the grass.)

Another pricey topper not available at the moment? Chanel Iman’s Temperley London coverup. While it isn’t available for purchase yet (start saving now — the short “Baudelaire” kimono will retail for $1,695 when it hits stores), you can snag her Stuart Weitzman “Backview” sandals for a cool $535.
Then there’s Katy Perry, who appears to be wearing something totally within your budget: a maxi dress and matching flip flops. Her maxidress, however, just so happens to be Lanvin — and it’ll run you $5,480.

And while you can certainly nab fringe pieces from places like Forever 21 and Asos for a reasonable price, Fergie went all-out to take our trophy for “most expensive fringe accessories;” first with her $2,070 Giuseppe Zanotti studded and fringed suede over-the-knee boots, and then in a $4,820 Alberta Ferretti suede fringe vest. Even if her pieces may not be in our price range, we’ll just plan on pulling off her frayed cutoffs, ripped tank and long scarves instead.
