What Post-Pregnancy Look Will Princess Kate Wear to Leave the Hospital?

With the royal birth (take two!) just days away, Princess Kate will soon be saying goodbye to her chic maternity wardrobe, but there’s still one outfit that hasn’t made it’s debut. The “departing from hospital” outfit is something that us mere mortals barely have to consider but for the royal mom — it’s a moment in British history. And while we already made a few suggestions for Kate, we also reached out to some experts to get their take on what she might wear.

Back in July 2012, when Princess Kate made an appearance on those famous Lindo Wing hospital steps (where Princess Diana also stood with both Prince William and Prince Harry) proudly carrying Prince George in her arms, she opted for a bespoke cornflower blue polka-dot dress by Jenny Packham. The one-off design was celebrated for its feminine features and British heritage, plus, the way it clinged to her post-baby body, something relatable to all moms.

Combined with her signature blow out, it was a look applauded by all. “Heavens above, she looked great!” style expert Hilary Alexander told PEOPLE at the time, adding: “After all those hours in labor, she looked incredible!”

So what will Kate wear this time?

“Undoubtedly, she’ll wear a gorgeous dress again,” Sophie Goodwin, Tatler’s Style Editor tells PEOPLE. “She’ll go for a heavier shift dress than the blue silk polka dot — perhaps a pastel crepe with capped sleeves and her nude pumps.” (Our bets are on her go-to L.K. Bennett heels.)

Whatever she has in mind, we are sure she will carry it off impeccably. Let the countdown begin.
