HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — ABC and Jennifer Lopez are teaming up to bring “Maid in Manhattan” to the small screen, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

While the television adaption will also feature a young Latina from the Bronx working at a Manhattan hotel, the similarities will end there says Chad Hodge, who is penning the pilot’s script.

“The show is a different maid in a different Manhattan,” he tells the trade publication.

In the feature film, Lopez captured the attention of a politician who mistook her for a wealthy socialite, but Hodge says the series will focus more on the maid’s co-worker relationships.

“While the hotel’s clientele is an obvious part of this world, I’m more interested in the downstairs part of ‘Upstairs, Downstairs,’ ” Hodge says, referring to the classic British series.

The 39-year-old Lopez, who welcomed twin babies in February with husband Marc Anthony, will serve as an executive producer on the series.

“She will be very integral in the pilot and series,” Hodge says.
