HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Paris Hilton has officially entered the world of politics.

The 27-year-old Hilton has responded to Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s campaign commercial, which likened his Democratic counterpart Barack Obama to the heiress and pop star Britney Spears.

In a video posted on FunnyorDie.com, Hilton talks politics while lounging poolside in a leopard bathing suit.

The 27-year-old Hilton has responded to Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s campaign commercial, which likened his Democratic counterpart Barack Obama to the heiress and pop star Britney Spears.

In a video posted on FunnyorDie.com, Hilton talks politics while lounging poolside in a leopard bathing suit.

“Hey America, I’m Paris Hilton and I’m a celebrity too,” Hilton says. “Only I’m not from the olden days and I’m not promising change like that other guy. I’m just hot.

“But then that wrinkly white haired guy used me in his campaign ad, which I guess means I’m running for president, so thanks for the endorsement white haired dude, and I want America to know, that I’m like, totally ready to lead.”

After McCain’s controversial ad started making the rounds last week, “The Simple Life” star’s mom, Kathy Hilton, took to The Huffington Post to voice her displeasure.

“I’ve been asked again and again for my response to the now infamous McCain celebrity ad,” she wrote. “I actually have three responses. It is a complete waste of the money John McCain’s contributors have donated to his campaign. It is a complete waste of the country’s time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs. And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next President of the United States.

Thankfully, Kathy Hilton now has a new presidential candidate closer to home — one that even has a vice president in mind.

“I’m thinking Rihanna,” Paris says in her video.
