Homeland star Claire Danes and actor husband Hugh Dancy welcomed newborn son Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy on Monday, Dec. 17, her rep confirmed to PEOPLE.
Danes’ co-star Mandy Patinkin has been preparing for the newborn for several months it seems.
He told Celebuzz at the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights’ 2012 Ripple of Hope Awards Dinner that he has “bought many, many gifts for that baby.”
“But the biggest gift I want to give that baby is I want my wife and I to be on the A-list of babysitters,” Patinkin said.
This is the first baby for the couple and Danes, 33, has been vocal about not knowing exactly what to expect from motherhood.
“There’s no way of anticipating what that’s going to mean for us, but we are very excited,” she told Anderson Cooper on Sept. 20.
