Of all the complicated relationships in Hollywood, perhaps the the most head-scratching is the one between Rihanna and Chris Brown.
This year, especially, the R&B singers brought their troubled romance, which ended abruptly in 2009 after Brown brutally attacked Rihanna just prior to the Grammys, to the forefront as they tried to make amends, or rekindle their spark, or — oh, who knows what they’re doing anymore?
Just this week, Rihanna and Brown spent Christmas Day looking very much like a couple as they watched the Lakers play the Knicks in Los Angeles. It was an especially confusing photo-op, as it came about a week or so after Rihanna had posted about being single on Instagram.
Are they dating again? Are they just friends? We may never know.
What we do know, though, is that they’re likely to keep making headlines in 2013.
