HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Gary Coleman pleaded no contest on Tuesday to charges of disorderly conduct and reckless driving, both stemming from his alleged September tussle at a Utah bowling alley, according to The Associated Press.
The former “Diff’rent Strokes” was ordered to pay a $100 fine for the disorderly conduct charge, while the reckless driving count will be waived if he goes violation free over the next year, AP says.
The September incident took place in the town of Payson, which is located about 60 miles south of Salt Lake City. According to court documents, Coleman was at the bowling alley with his wife and bodyguard when he became agitated with fellow kingpin Colt Rushton, who began taking photos of the pint-sized star on his camera phone. Rushton reportedly continued by taking snapshots in the parking lot of Coleman’s truck.
Rushton’s attorney told AP that Coleman’s wife then proceeded to take away his client’s cell phone, which soon led to a scuffle. The 40-year-old former child star’s truck then clipped Rushton’s vehicle while leaving the parking lot.
Coleman still faces a civil assault suit filed by Rushton over his alleged minor injuries suffered in the incident.
