CHELSEA, Vt. — Matt Dillon has pleaded not guilty in his Vermont speeding case, The Associated Press reports.
The 44-year-old actor was stopped by authorities on Dec. 30 as he drove a rented 2009 Chevrolet Impala on Interstate 91 in Newbury, Vt. He was reportedly clocked driving 106 mph in a 65-mph zone.

Dillon, who did not attend Wednesday’s hearing, was charged with careless and negligent operation for driving more than 30 miles per hour above the posted 65-mph speed limit.
If convicted, the Oscar nominee faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
