HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Terrell Owens is bringing his game to VH1.
The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver will be starring in a new reality series entitled “The Terrell Owens Project,” the network announced Tuesday.
“We are thrilled to bring such a great athlete, who is one of the biggest names and personalities in all the world of sports to VH1 for a surprising high octane look inside his superstar life off the field,” Jeff Olde, EVP Original Programming & Production, said in a statement.
The series, scheduled to debut in the summer, will follow Owens’ offseason exploits, with appearances by his friends and publicists Monique Jackson and Kita Williams.
Much like fellow VH1 series “Scott Baio is 45 & Single,” the outspoken Owens will be examining his personal life and “putting a plan into action,” with Jackson and Williams functioning as “matchmakers and therapists,” the network says.
Owens was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 1996 NFL draft. He later played two seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles (2004-05) before signing with the Cowboys.
