HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Mel Gibson stepped out with his new girlfriend Tuesday night, just weeks after his wife of nearly 30 years filed for divorce.
The 53-year-old actor and Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva, 39, attended the “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
“Mel has been single for almost three years and it’s nice to see him getting out and enjoying himself,” Gibson’s rep told People.
The “Braveheart” star’s wife, Robyn Moore, filed divorce papers earlier this month in Los Angeles Superior Court. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the couple’s split.
Moore, 53, is seeking joint physical and legal custody of the pair’s lone minor child, 9-year-old son Thomas. Gibson and Moore, who married on June 7, 1980, have six other children – Hannah, 28, twins Edward and Christian, 26, William, 24, Louis, 21, and Milo, 19.
“Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so,” the couple said in a joint statement when the divorce was announced.
