On Tuesday, police responded to a tripped alarm at her Hollywood home around 3 p.m. At first glance, they were certain that she had been the victim of a crime based on the her house looking ransacked.

“Is it normally like this, or did the intruders do it?” wondered Los Angeles police Officer Karen Rayner when surveying the scene.

The police discovered nothing had been taken and left believing someone had simply tripped the alarm by accident. However, that theory changed Thursday when a surveillance video revealed a four-door gray station wagon parking in front that day just before 3 p.m. Police are now seeking two men, including one who was wearing a baseball cap and a bandana over his face.

“While the driver stayed inside, the passenger suspect stepped out of the vehicle, walked through a gate and entered the backyard of the residence,” the police told People. “Investigators believed that the suspect tried to gain entry by using an unknown type tool to pry open a back window and door. After the unsuccessful attempt, the suspects drove off.”

The 22-year-old Lohan was not home at the time of the attempted break-in.
