FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Country music star Sara Evans married former University of Alabama quarterback Jay Barker Saturday night, according to People magazine.
The couple’s wedding was an outdoor affair held at a farm near Evans’s home in Franklin, Tenn.
The 37-year-old singer, who previously appeared on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” wore an ivory silk taffeta Vera Wang gown with a halter neck, while Barker, 35, wore a Dolce and Gabbana suit, the magazine says.
Guests at the black-and-white themed wedding included singer Sheryl Crow.
“It was really very elegant, but Sara wanted it to feel like you were at her house,” the couple’s friend and wedding planner, Traci Phillips, tells People.
The newlyweds started dating around Thanksgiving last year and became engaged in March.
Evans was previously married to Craig Schelske. The couple divorced last year after 14 years of marriage. They have three children, Avery Jack Lyons, 8, Olivia Margaret, 5, and Audrey Elizabeth, 3.
Barker led the Crimson Tide to a national championship in 1992. He currently co-hosts a morning radio show, The Opening Drive on WJOX, in Birmingham, along with former Tennessee Titans placekicker Al Del Greco and veteran disc jockey Tony Kurre. Barker has four children from a previous marriage.
