CLEARWATER, Fla. — Brooke Hogan’s vehicle was struck and pushed into a concrete wall on the Bayside Bridge in Clearwater, Fla. Sunday afternoon, the St. Petersburg Times reports.
Hogan, 20, and her passenger Laura Chadwell, 23, were hit by Ronald Gallmon, 19, who lost control of his vehicle during a lane change, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.
No one was injured in the crash, which happened around 4 p.m.
According to witnesses, Gallmon was speeding when he struck Hogan’s 2008 Mercedes. He was traveling with a 17-year-old passenger at the time.
Hogan’s parents, Linda and Terry, better known as Hulk Hogan, both came to the accident scene to assist their daughter.
In a message on her MySpace page, Hogan said she was thankful that she was wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred.
“I don’t know if you heard, but my friend and I got into a really bad car accident today ourselves… As I turned on my car I clicked my seatbelt. As we pulled out onto the road, I looked over and realized my friend didn’t have her seatbelt on. I reminded her to put it on and the minute she clicked it, a car crashed into us,” she wrote. “It was a horrible car accident, one that most would be severely hurt in, but we had our seatbelts on and they kept us in tight.”
The accident comes on the heels of Hogan’s brother, Nick, being sentenced to eight months in jail on a felony reckless driving charge, stemming from a crash in Clearwater last August.
