NEW YORK — Tiki Barber has left his 8-months-pregnant wife, Ginny, for a younger woman who previously worked as an NBC intern, according to the New York Post.
In a statement late Monday, the 35-year-old Barber confirmed the split without going into details.
"After 11 years of marriage, Ginny and I have decided to separate," the former NFL star said. "This decision was a painful one, but we are moving forward amicably and will continue to work together to raise our children with the love and dedication they have always known."
Sources told the Post that Barber has been carrying on a relationship with 23-year-old Traci Lynn Johnson for some time. The blonde bombshell reportedly traveled to Senegal with him late last year for filming of a documentary he hosted, when Ginny was three months pregnant. Last month, the pair were photographed together at a Washington, D.C. screening of the Travel Channel special.
It is also believed that Johnson went to Vancouver with Barber while he worked the recent Winter Olympics for Yahoo.com.
Ginny, who is expecting twins, reportedly found out about the affair late last year after the running back moved out of their Manhattan home.
The Barber’s, who met back in college at the University of Virginia, married in 1999. They have two son — A.J., 7, and Chason, 6.
