HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jamie Spears appears to be gaining more power over his daughter’s life after a court commissioner granted him the authority to fire Britney Spears’ business manager, Howard Grossman.
According to court documents released Friday, Grossman has been ordered to turn “all documents, records and assets relating to Britney Spears” over to Jamie Spears.
“The only thing I will say is my reputation speaks for itself,” Grossman tells People magazine. “I couldn’t tell you why they chose this path.”
In other Britney news, her divorce lawyer, Sorrell Trope, has apparently filed a second motion asking to be released as the pop singer’s attorney in her ongoing custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Britney’s main legal guru from the Beverly Hills law firm of Trope and Trope first asked to be relieved on Jan. 2, but later retracted.
A hearing on the matter has been scheduled for March 10.
