Ringo Starr Refuses to Shorten Song For Regis and Kelly

Ringo Starr, pictures, picture, photos, photo, pics, pic, images, image, hot, sexy, latest, newHOLLYWOOD, Calif. — We now know the secret to pissing off Beatles legend Ringo Starr.

The former drummer of the legendary band snubbed Regis and Kelly Tuesday morning after the talk show’s producers asked him to shorten one of his songs.

The 67-year-old rocker was apparently unaware of a long-standing rule of the show that musical performances be kept to 2 1/2 minutes max.

When it was brought to his attention, he refused to cut down his 4 minute, 15 second-long song “Liverpool 8” — from his new album of the same name — any shorter than 3 minutes and 30 seconds, his publicist Elizabeth Freund reveals to OK! magazine.

“We offered to cut back our chat time and asked them to fade or go to commercial,” she says. “They were not willing to do that and Ringo was not willing to cut it further, so without a compromise we were not able to stay.”

Thankfully, all appears to still be well between the rock star and America’s favorite morning tandem.

“Ringo left saying, ‘God bless and goodbye. We still love Regis.’ ” says Freund.
